DOMAIN DES RUES

The breed originated here in 1908.

Ownership of the herdbook.

Maine-Anjou are red and white (sometimes black or roan) and have horns. They are a large breed, with bulls weighing between 998-1406 kg, and cows between 680-862 kg with peaks upwards. The heaviest bull of the breed is Fetard with 1950 kg. The Maine-Anjou has developed as a dual-purpose breed. The cows were used for milk production and the bull calves for the meat market. Today they are mainly used as beef cattle.

The Maine-Anjou is known as an outcross breed, which means that it is a breed that can and should remain outside all year round. Since 1995 we have come into contact with the breed as a company. In that year, the organization KI SAMEN imported the first shipment of straws to the Netherlands. The results were already more than satisfied from day 1, it was a pleasure to finally breed again as a company without problems.

In the meantime we have fully specialized in the Maine-Anjou, the knowledge we have gained in the past is of such quality that we can count ourselves among the specialists. We care about the breeders because we work and think from our own experiences.
