ABOUT

US

My name is Jennes Rochat and I  am the owner of Rochat Maine-Anjou. I am married to Suzanne and have four children.

I have a passion for breeding cows and that is why, in the early nineties, I started looking for red and white beef cattle that can naturally calve.

I grew up with Mrij cows from which Dikbillen were later bred. When I took over my father's farm in 1995, I immediately started breeding Maine-Anjou.

In 1995 the organization KI SAMEN brought a hundred straws from four bulls to The Netherlands for us.

The bulls were Hijou, Gribouille, Hubu and Fripon. Over the years I have been to France a number of times. I have been to several inspections and have seen the variety change from a dual purpose variety to a beautiful meat variety. I hope this website will give more publicity to the Maine-Anjou breed in The Netherlands.

To achieve this faster, I started importing herdbook Maine-Anjou animals in January 2020.

Initially for myself, to breathe new life into our breeding. Because there is no sperm for sale in The Netherlands from modern bulls, I went looking for the best French herdbook companies. Companies that have produced a national champion at least once and / or have supplied at least 1 AI bull in recent years.

In other words, what I bring to The Netherlands comes from the best French herdbook companies.
